Yoga classes and tuition

Groups and Individuals

I am passionate about sharing yoga with people and believe every posture can be modified to make it available for everyone in whatever way they can manage at all levels and abilities. I have been teaching yoga for nearly 25 years as directed by my teachers Derek Ireland, Kristina Karitinou-Ireland and pranayama by Philip Xerri.

Whilst teaching I draw on nearly 40 years of experience in Osteopathy to ease aches, pains and muscle tension for the development of your physical strength and flexibility. I create a safe and friendly environment where people can explore and use their bodies in ways that they can physically manage for the benefit of their health, mobility and well-being.

“When you listen to yourself, everything comes naturally. It comes from inside, like a kind of will to do something. Try to be sensitive. That is yoga”

– Petri Räisänen

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a gentle form of Yoga that improves flexibility and core strength. It can be done while sitting or using a chair simply as support. It has low impact on joints and is ideal for older people or anyone that may have sustained an injury.

It is an adaptation of yoga poses that can be done simply in a chair to help improve flexibility and strength. This is useful for people who spend long hours sitting, such as at a desk or in planes, train and automobiles and for texter’s neck.

Perfect for people who cannot get up and down from the floor, are a little older or in rehabilitation from an injury as they can benefit from the increased flexibility and breathing without stressing their bodies. It works every part of your body and can loosen and stretch painful muscles too!

learn Pranayama Breathing techniques

Pranayama (Breathing)

Learn to master your breathing for improved health and well-being. Breathing is the first and last thing Textwe ever do – let’s make what we do in between work for us.

Pranyama is the practice of breath regulation and lies at the heart of Yoga. The word ‘Prana’ means Breath or vital energy in the body.

Work with me and learn to direct and control the breath and feel the benefits with better physical and mental wellbeing.

The more we breathe well, the more we relax, the more we relax the better we breathe!

“During the pranayama or breathing sessions I normally experience a period of great calmness and separation from all the anxiety of the present time-very restful. A very satisfied participant!” – John Mills

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Explore movement with lightness and ease, strengthen, stretch, tone, breathe. Release stress in a safe, fun, friendly environment.

Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teaches you to move with the breath and using core strengthening. Learn the sequences to practice at home.

I was very fortunate to be able to study Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga at The Practice Place which is run by Derek Ireland, Kristina Karitinou-Ireland and Rhada. I knew instantly that I had found my passion and the style I wanted to teach. Coached by Kristina, I eventually taught her classes from 1998. Following this, I became a Senior Yoga Alliance Teacher and Teacher Trainer whilst teaching Yoga practice throughout Sussex, including Brighton Natural Health Centre and Evolution.

“I have been attending Lin’s yoga sessions for three years now, in Sussex. In over thirty years of practice, she is by far the best teacher I have found. I had had a favourite in previous years, it turns out Lin taught her! Lin has a depth of knowledge of yoga that is rarely seen. Her passion for practice shines through her classes that are always in-depth, as well as upbeat and fun! Lin has extensive experience of how the body works and how to fine tune practice to suit your own particular needs. She is a registered osteopath and knows how to support you, if you have injuries for instance. I am hugely grateful for the support she has offered me and for the lovely classes she still offers, via zoom!” – Joanna Woram

meditation and relaxation
“Lin’s breathing and meditation class sets me up for the week. It helps me to relax and focus on what’s important… Breathing! I find it particularly helpful if anxious thoughts start creeping in. I then make a choice to stop and breath fully, I imagine the thoughts and anxieties floating away on clouds. Thank you Lin” – Janis
